Session description

In our first Faculty Café session, we came together to reflect on the realities and challenges of teaching today. One of the most frequently shared themes was student motivation and engagement, including questions around attention, participation, and students’ active involvement in learning.

For our second gathering, we will continue the conversation by focusing on this theme more closely. This hybrid session will offer a relaxed space for faculty members to share ideas, examples, and practices from their own classrooms, and to learn from different disciplinary perspectives. Participants are welcome to join us in the OLTE HyFlex Classroom or attend online via Zoom.

Together, we will discuss:

• How do we currently experience student motivation and engagement in our courses?
• What teaching practices, routines, or small changes have helped students participate more actively?
• What can we learn from each other’s classroom experiences?

Faculty Café is designed as an informal space for cross-disciplinary conversation, reflection, and exchange around teaching and learning. We look forward to continuing the conversation over coffee.
